درس زبان تخصصی به دانشجویان کمک می کند که با موضوعات و اصلاحات تخصصی رایج در رشته تخصصی خود آشنایی بهتری پیدا نمایند. مطالب این درس به گونه ای تنظیم شده است که در هر درس به یک موضوع تخصصی در رشته کامپیوتر پرداخته می شود. معمولاً، در نوشتن یک متن علمی و فنی از یک سبک خاصی تبعیت می شود که با سبک نوشتاری سایر متون متفاوت می باشد. سبک متون فنی به گونه ای می باشد که بتوان موضوعات علمی را با دقت لازم، و کمترین ابهام، به مخاطب ارسال نمود.

در هر درس به یکی از نکات فنی و گرامری در نوشتن مطالب تخصصی اشاره می شود. آشنایی با این نکات به دانشجو کمک خواهد کرد که راحت تر متون تخصصی را درک نماید، و نیز به آنها، بخصوص در مقطع تحصیلات تکمیلی کمک خواهد کرد که با اصول نگارشی نوشتن مقاله به زبان انگلیسی آشنا شوند.
