In this video, I will show you how to derive the vertex formula of a parabola. That is, the vertex of a parabola y=ax^2+bx+c is at x=-b/(2a). I will use the algebra way, completing the square, and the calculus way, taking the derivative & critical number, to prove the formula. Note that we cannot use the quadratic formula since it is derived from the CTS. To get QF from CTS: https://youtu.be/AAUDPVJ70Y4 , The calculus part is meant to be algebra-student friendly!
